ANNUAL CLIENT REVIEW

What is the annual review and why is it so important? In short, the annual review is the opportunity to measure a client’s progress against their plan of action. It’s also the one time when planners and clients can examine the many changes that typically occur any given 12-month period – the birth of a child, the death of a loved one, the loss of a job, a major purchase – and then readjust the client’s financial plan, charting a new course if need be or further affirming the client’s progress towards their personal financial goal achievement.

Annual Client Risk Assessment

Risk assessment is a crucial component of any financial planning process. A properly defined and documented process will give the greatest chance of a successful outcome. It will not guarantee the removal of any future issues but will provide comfort for both client and adviser that a sophisticated and scientific process has been employed.

Annual Beneficiary Review

Wills and trust are often thought of as the main components of an estate plan – the documents that determine who will receive our assets at death. However, simple beneficiary designation forms, which govern retirement accounts, insurance contracts, and even bank and brokerage accounts, may actually control the distribution of the bulk of an estate.
